Axiom Solutions offers single mode fiber optic cable installation for backbones as well as connections between locations within a network. As the name suggests, single mode fiber is designed for the transmission of a single ray (or mode) of light and is primarily used for long distance transmissions. With a core measurement of 9 microns, single mode fiber has a much smaller core than multi mode fiber optic cabling.
Single mode fiber optic cabling is largely synonymous with outside plant installation. Axiom provides outside plant installations of single mode fiber, most of which is buried underground, but can also be hung from poles or pulled through conduit. After installation, every fiber and every splice is tested with an Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) & (OLTS) to confirm all connections.
Axiom Solutions has extensive experience installing multi mode fiber optic cabling for a wide range of clients. Like single mode, multi mode fiber can be used for backbones within networks, but can also be used for interconnectivity within networks for clients seeking state-of-the-art network performance.
Multi mode fiber optic cabling, also called OM1, OM2, OM3, OM4 is almost always used for inside plant or premises cabling. Multi mode fiber is designed to carry multiple light rays or modes concurrently, each at a slightly different reflection angle within the optical fiber core. Multi mode fiber transmission is used for relatively short distances because the modes tend to disperse over longer lengths. With a standard core measurement of 62.5 microns — or the newer 50 micron style — multi mode fiber, has a significantly bigger core than single mode fiber optic cabling. OM3 & OM4 are the lastest 50 Micron fiber that can transmit 10Gigabit bandwidth on a single pair of fiber.
Axiom Solutions can provide the multi mode fiber optic cabling you need to build a network that will grow with your business and meet the increasing demands of new technology.
